Summer Nighttime Routine

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Today, I wanted to share my nighttime routine with you. Since I am still in school, I find that my summer nighttime routine is completely different than my school night routine.

Since I am typically out later on summer nights, and I don't have a set schedule, my routine changes day to day. I know, I know, I should get myself in a consistent routine, but come on! It is summer!

As soon as I get home for the night, I go upstairs and play music. I cannot be productive without music, so I always have some background noise. Then I go into the bathroom and remove my makeup. I always do this before I shower because I find I won't properly remove my makeup if I don't take it off before.

Then, I jump in the shower. Depending on how late it is and how I feel, I will either skip the hair wash or actually wash my hair for the next day. I sleep on wet hair all the time (I know, this is bad too), so if I end up washing my hair that doesn't bother me.

After I shower, I start my skincare routine (which I have cut down dramatically btw). I'll post an updated skincare routine soon!! Then I will brush my teeth and hair, etc...

Once I get into bed, I start to meditate. I start doing this by rubbing lavender essential oils on my temples, behind my ears, and on my wrists. I find this helps me fall asleep better than melatonin.

Although sometimes I forget, or fall asleep, I typically will think of 3 good things that happened to me that day, as well as something I am thankful for. I love doing this every night because I find that I think slightly more positively, something we could all use in our lives.

Then I fall asleep:)
