Orange Theory Fitness Class Review

Hey guys!

Yesterday, I tried Orange Theory Fitness for the first time. I signed up for one of their free classes, so I could see how I liked it before possibly purchasing a membership.

I was very confused how Orange Theory worked, but the manager explained it all to me. Basically the class is split in two parts: the treadmill part, and the rowing machine and floor exercises. You spend 30 minutes on one part, and then switch and do the final 30 on the other. I found the exercises to be very fun and difficult (but not too difficult). Even though the class was a full hour, it never felt long. I started on the rowing machines and then the floor. As many of you know, I am still recovering from my knee injury last winter, so I was worried this intense workout would be too impactful. The trainer was very accommodating when I told her about my knee. She would come over and give me other options of the exercise if the one the class was doing hurt my knee.

The treadmill part was the part I was most nervous for. I was scared that I wouldn't be able to run at all, but that ended up being far from the truth. I loved that part of the class because the 30 spent on the treadmill went by quickly. I ran a lot, and fast.

In one hour, I burned 658 calories. I think this is incredibly impressive. In a one hour workout, I will typically burn a little over 500 calories.

Another bonus is that Orange Theory Fitness is based on the orange theory. I don't know much about this, so I will share what I know and would recommend you guys look it up for yourselves. The orange theory is the zone where your body burns calories for up to 36 hours after your workout. I don't have any way to track this, but if it is accurate, I think it is a really cool theory.

Overall, I highly recommend trying out Orange Theory Fitness. Your first class is free, so why not try it!
