Beginner's Makeup Kit

When I was just starting to get into makeup, I had NO idea what products to get, what brands to use, or what items I could skip on. Being a little more experienced now, I thought that it might be helpful if I put together a beginner's makeup kit. This is a list of products that are affordable, easy to use, and verstile so you can get the biggest bang for your buck and put together a kit that includes all the essentials for anyone new to makeup.

  • Neutrogena Shine Control Primer  - I found that when I was first starting out with makeup, if I used a good primer I could get away without using a foundation. This is the perfect solution if you don't want to spend a ton of money on makeup when you're just starting out. I love this primer because it helps even out your skintone and create a glowy look.
  • NYX Concelear Jar - A strong concelear is an absolute must for me, it makes me feel much more confident and helps pull a look together. I adore the Benefit Boi-ing Concelear and think that it is completely worth the price. But, if you want to start off with something more affordable. I recommend this NYX one, it's similar in consistancy, works extremely well, and comes in tons of different shades.

  • Covergirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner - Eyeliner is the perfect way to add a little drama to your look without needing to use, like, 5 million products. I love this one because it can be used on your waterline or lash line. It can also be used to draw a super precise line or smudged out to create a smokey eye effect. Also, for beginner's, I recommend using a pencil eyeliner over liquid because it will be a little easier to start out and get the hang of.
  • Covergirl LashBlast Volume Waterproof Mascara - A little mascara can go along way, especially for beginners. It's easy to use and can instantly make any look pop. I love this one because it's smudge/waterproof so it can be used for any occassion and when they claim "volumeizing", they're not kidding.
  • Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture Eye Palette - While this palette is a little pricier than other drugstore options, it's worth every penny. These 12 colors are the perfect neutrals to create any type of look. They're also super pigmented, soft, and easy to blend.

  • Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick - Obviously this depends on your daily life, but I believe that no makeup kit is complete without at least two killer lipstick shades. I recommend some combination of a nude (I love the shade First Class Nude), a light pink (like Rose Blush) or a deep red (like Diva Red).

Hopefully this list will help guide you guys to creating a beginner's makeup kit. These are all quality products (that won't break the bank), and can be used to create a ton of different looks. As you become more experienced, your collection will grow - maybe to include a gorgeous blush or amazing foundation - but for now, I believe that these are all the absolute essentials. Let me know down in the comments below your thoughts on these products or if you need any further recommendations to grow your collection!
