What’s in Season? Fall edition!

I love visiting the farmers market. Everyone is always super friendly, there are always piles of delicious fresh fruits and veggies, and I always come home with tons of inspiration for new meals to make. Today I have a guide for what’s in season during the fall months so you know that you’ll always be buying what fresh.

  • Apples - Tossed into a salad, turned into a pie, or just eaten fresh, crisp apples are definitely a must for Fall.

  • Cranberries - Cranberries are the perfect topping for salads, parfaits, and desserts.
  • Pear - Grilled, thrown into a salad, or eaten fresh, pears are delicious when ripe.

  • Pomegranate - My favorite fruit ever is perfect for everything - think salads, dessert toppings, and in drinks.

  • Sweet Potatoes -  Sweet potatoes fries, sweet potato quesadillas, sweet potato salads, and sweet potato enchiladas are some of the many things you can make with sweet potatoes.

  • Pumpkin - Pumpkins are delicious in soups, cookies, muffins, and of course pie.  

  • Broccoli - Broccoli is the perfect addition to any dish. It tastes amazing with pasta, on pizza, and in a stirfry.

  • Butternut Squash - Squash is perfect in salads, in tacos, in soups, and with pasta.

  • Peppers - I love peppers! These are perfect on pizzas, in salads, and stuffed (as in stuffed peppers).

  • Kale - Kale is super trendy and perfect for salads, smoothies, and in pesto.

  • Carrots - Carrots are perfect for salads, slaws, and in carrot cakes.

  • Cauliflower - Cauliflower is delicious roasted, and perfect on pizza, in salads, and turned into a risotto.
