What I’ve Read Recently feat. Liane Moriarty

As you may or may not know, I’m low key obsessed with all of Liane Moriarty’s books. I’ve already reviewed The Last Anniversary and The Husband’s Secret. So today I’m back with a review on two of her other books I’ve recently read!

The first book I finished was Three Wishes. This book focuses on Lyn, Cat, and Gemma, the three Kettle triplets each leading very interesting lives. Like all of Moriarty’s books this one was hysterical, witty, and cleverly written. Her characters were quirky and within pages you’ll feel like you’re truly part of Kettle family. This novel starts with an uproar at a restaurant caused by the three sisters (sound familiar?) and then backtracks to where it all began. Intertwined within the story are excerpts of stranger’s memories and thoughts of the triplets. This story of sibling rivalry, growing up, and growing old is one you definitely won’t forget. My only complaint was it does get a little difficult to keep track of all the characters, but each one is so unique that you get the hang of it.

The second book I read was Big Little Lies. And I’m sorry to say… This book may have topped The Husband’s Secret for my all time favorite book. It’s that amazing. This book primarily follows the lives of three mothers with children in the same kindergarten class. The story of the book is cut up with interviews after a tragic event at Trivia Night. Like all Moriarty’s books, this is funny, tear-jerking, and shocking (but at this point, I’d expect no less). Each woman is dealing with her own issues, and you will sitting there cheering them on every step of the way. I can honestly say that I found no faults with this story, other than it was over too soon. Chloe was obviously my favorite five year old, and the mothers who only really showed up in the interviews were also hysterical. If you’re like me and basically holed up to read this book, don’t worry, HBO won the rights to make it a show and you can guarantee I’ll be watching. every. single. episode.

So these are my reviews for Liane Moriarty’s Three Wishes and Big Little Lies. Sorry they were a little short, I didn’t want to give anything away! Let me know what you thought down below in the comments and share anything you’ve been reading lately and I’ll definitely check it out!
