Sweet and Salty: Your Guide to Not-so-Boring Popcorn

Popcorn is lowkey delicious. Not the $500 kind covered in butter at the movies, but the home popped lightly salted kind. Ugh it makes me hungry just thinking about it. Today I thought I would share a few recipe to spice up, or should I say sweeten up, your popcorn.

  • Pizza Popcorn - Pizza Popcorn, hit me up. Cook 1 cup of pepperoni in oil until crisp. Save the oil and drizzle it over the popcorn. Mix the popcorn with the pepperoni, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon oregano, and salt to taste.

  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn - Mix ¼ cup honey, ⅙ cup granulated sugar, and ¼ cup peanut butter in a saucepan under medium heat. Stir until all the peanut butter in melted and then add in ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract. Pour this over the popcorn and mix to combine. Add as many mini or chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups as you want and then drizzle chocolate to taste over the popcorn.

  • Sour Popcorn - This one is a little more ambiguous. Head to the candy aisle in your grocery store and go crazy. Buy anything from Sour Patch Kids, to Sour Watermelons, to Nerds. Mix in your popcorn and enjoy!

So these are some of my favorite ways to spice up regular popcorn. Share any other ideas in the comments below and share pics of your crazy popcorn creations for a chance to be featured on social media!
