Productivity ≠ Success

Ok, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Something I learned not too long ago. Correction, something I’m still trying to learn. Are you ready for this? Productivity ≠ Success. *Drops the mic*

Ok, one more time because the words are just so beautiful, productivity does not equal success.

It took me some time to get my head around this. Such a simple phrase but ever since I first heard it, it’s honestly kind of changed my life. I’m a perfectionist and always spend time making sure everything is 1000000% perfect. And then I’m always lying in bed at night thinking, wow I really did not get that much done, I should have done so much more. But here’s what I’m learning, just because I didn’t get a ton done doesn’t mean I wasn’t successful. It’s like Quality over Quantity, how hard you work at one thing is better than getting a ton done.

This phrase may seem silly but I really have started to believe it. I have started to stop caring about the amount of stuff I get done in a day and started caring about the quality of stuff I did get done. This phrase has made me less stressed and has made it easier for me to stop working at night, knowing that the stuff I actually did get done was well done.

So, what do you think about this quote? Do you believe in it? Do you live by it? Let me know in the comments below!
