5 Things to do with Leftover Turkey

Hey guys!

It’s November and Thanksgiving is soon! The season of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Leaves Candles, and cozy sweaters is officially upon us. Being one of my favorite times of the year, I have a ton of fun fall/winter/holiday themed posts for you guys. I’m literally so excited RN you don’t even know. Today I have a more practical post for you guys - What to do with leftover turkey. If you’re at all like me, you stack leftovers in little neat containers and put them in your fridge where you then forget about them until like 6 months after. This year, I have been trying to declutter my life and become less wasteful with the things I use. I thought a great way to start this would be to actually eat all of my leftovers. But honestly, eating cold turkey sandwiches everyday for a week can get boring and a little tedious. Hopefully this post will help you be a little more creative when it comes to eating your Thanksgiving leftovers.

  • Turkey Pot Pie - An obvious staple leftover meal, turkey pot pie. This is great because you can also throw in some of your leftover veggies from Thanksgiving. I love this recipe here.
  • Turkey Club Sandwich - A twist on your classic turkey sandwich. Just add some leftover turkey, mayonnaise, mustard, avocado, cheddar cheese, tomato and lettuce. If you want to jazz it up a little bit, add chipotle sauce or bacon. Serve with some leftover stuffing or mashed potatoes and it’s delicious.
  • Turkey Soup - For a twist on classic chicken noodle soup try this turkey soup. It’s delicious and again, you can throw in some extra veggies and serve with stuffing. This is my favorite turkey soup recipe.
  • Turkey Topped Pizza - A great way to get picky eaters to eat leftovers, throw them on a pizza. Take a Boboli pizza crust, add sauce and mozzarella and then top with some of your leftovers. I love turkey + broccoli pizza, but any other veggies will also work and taste amazing.
  • Curried Turkey - To mix up the classic turkey flavors, try curried turkey. Combine ¼ cup of plain greek yogurt, 1 TBSP water, 1 TBSp olive oil, 1 TSP curry powder, 1 TSP honey, ¼ TSP salt, and ¼ TSP black pepper and mix together. Throw in about 2 cups of cooked turkey and continue to mix. Serve with rice or more traditional leftovers for a unique take on turkey leftovers.

So, this is my list of my top 5 favorite things to do with leftover turkey. They all taste delicious and will help you be less wasteful. Comment any of your leftover recipes below and I’ll be sure to check them out! Also share pics of you trying this recipe for a chance to be featured on the blog.
