Sunburn Relief

Isn’t it really unfortunate when you get a really bad sunburn. Like really unfortunate. Well, I may have said this before but… I don’t tan, I burn. Badly. So an essential for me over the summer is a sunburn relief. Today I have a DIY for my tried and true Sunburn Relief recipe.

Things You’ll Need:
  • ¼ cup of aloe vera (Will help heal the epithelial level of the skin, the part that can get burned.)
  • 2 cups of witch hazel (Will help prevent the peeling and flaking and helps the sunburn heal faster.)
  • 10 drops lavender oil (Will help reduce scarring and minimize pain from a sunburn.)
  • 10 drops peppermint oil (Will help cool your skin down and bring relief to your skin.)
  • Spray bottle

  • Pour all the ingredients into the spray bottle
  • Shake the bottle to mix the ingredients
  • Spray onto the affected area and allow it to stay on your skin

Ok so this is the recipe. This is my favorite method for sunburn relief. It’s perfect because it cools the skin, heals the skin, and relieves the skin. But, I know that these ingredients can be a little difficult to find (def try local drugstores and health food stores). So I thought I would also share a few other sunburn relief tips with things that are more easy to find. Ok so you can also try to rub a little vinegar, or coconut oil, or green tea or even oats (with a little water) on your skin to also help soothe it from a sunburn. But as you’ve heard me say it before, if you want to avoid this whole unfortunate mess in the first place, just wear sunscreen every single time you go outside! Comment below any of your tried and true sunburn relief tips!
