Food- Shortbread (pasta frolla) pie crusts!

Hey guys!
Today I have a super exciting post for you! I’m sharing my family’s recipe for shortbread pie crusts.
Quick story: My family is italian and we call this recipe pasta frolla, when I was writing this, I needed to use the english word. Google translate says it's shortbread, so i’m really sorry if it isn’t lol. But if you’re confused on what I’m talking about, google pasta frolla.
Anyways, onto the recipe.
You will need…
-2 and a half cups of flour
-1 and a half sticks of butter (NOT WARMED!)
-1 eggs (whole)
-1 egg yolks
-1/2 cups of sugar
-a drop or two of vanilla
-1 tsp baking powder

Be sure to not microwave your butter, because cold butter is what’s gonna make your pie crust crispy and delicious!
Mix all the ingredients into a food processor, until it is combined. If the dough it looking a little crummy, mold it into a ball with your hands. Wrap in saran wrap and let chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Preheat your oven to 350℉. After an hour, take the dough out of the refrigerator and roll out. MAKE SURE TO ADD A LITTLE ALL PURPOSE FLOUR ONTO YOUR SURFACE AND HANDS TO PREVENT STICKING. Roll the dough out until it is about 1 cm thick, and place into your pie dish. If using this for a tart, cook for 15-16 minutes. My favorite way to eat this is to turn it into a tart and add fresh fruit, custard and a glaze on top. But, if you want to make a pie, stay tuned because next week, I’ll be posting a recipe for filling.

I hope you guys enjoy this super simple recipe for shortbread pie or tart crust!
