What To Eat Before You Workout

Hey guys!

Today I have a bit of a mashup post for you. This post combines both fitness (kind of) and food. (Basically 2 of my favorite things) Before working out you want to be eating a low-fat snack with a bunch of carbohydrates and proteins. Carbohydrates are good for energy and the protein is good for your muscles. This list is a list of snacks that combine both carbohydrates and proteins so you can get the most out of your food (and your workout). So try these tasty snacks before you work out.

  • Oatmeal + Berries
  • Peanut butter (or any nut butter) on an english muffin with a banana
  • A fruit smoothie that is filled with berries and greek yogurt
  • Raw veggies with hummus
  • Apples in peanut butter (I love putting this is a wrap!)
  • Trail mix filled with nuts and dried fruits
  • An egg white omelette filled with veggies
  • Whole grain toast with some fresh fruit
  • A small turkey sandwich
  • Brown rice with some veggies
  • Quinoa + some veggies
  • A yogurt parfait
  • Eggs and toast
  • A small piece of chicken + sweet potatoes
  • A pita filled with veggies and feta cheese
  • Stir-fry with a bit of rice on the side
